Be the mentor you wanted to have!

When I work with families there are two questions to which I seek answers from each family member at the beginning of our journey together. What are you passionate about and who is your mentor?
The first question is designed to discover the unique journey to which each individual family member is called. The second question is designed to learn how each family member is pursuing his or her calling, since I am certain that no one can successfully pursue his or her journey of life-long learning without the mentor needed for that stage of the journey.
King Phillip of Macedonia understood this fact when he called on Aristotle to mentor his own Alexander to prepare Alexander to be the King of Macedonia. Phillip knew that he had taught Alexander all he could as his father. For the young man to move to the next stage of his journey, he needed a mentor. Little did Phillip know that by choosing Aristotle the mentor would turn the boy not only into a king but into the Emperor of the World, Alexander the Great.

SEA STARS!

One day after a high tide lots of sea-stars were brought to the shore. They started drying up in the sun. A boy, walking down the shore started throwing the sea-stars into the sea, so that they could continue their lives.
A person came up to him and asked:
– Why are you doing this? Look around! There are millions of sea-stars; the shore is covered with them. Your attempts won’t change anything!
The boy picked up the following sea-star, thought for a moment, threw it into the sea and said:
– No, my attempt will change a lot…for this one sea-star!

Gratefulness leads always to gracefulness!

It is not happiness that makes us grateful, it's gratefulness that makes us happy. Many people would say, well, that's very easy - when you're happy, you're grateful. But think again - is it really the happy people that are grateful? We all know quite a number of people who have everything that it would take to be happy and they're not happy because they want something else or they want more of the same.
And we all know people who have lots of misfortunes and they are deeply happy, they radiate happiness. You're surprised. Why? Because they're grateful.
GRATEFULNESS LEADS ALWAYS TO GRACEFULNESS!

-Πού είναι τα έπιπλά σου...;
-Τα δικά σου που είναι...;

How to be the most amazing teacher!

Some may think that the article is intended for teachers, but against the provision, the article is intended for all of us. Simply because we all teach in real life. We teach through our positive or negative attitude, our generosity or emotional contraction, our truth or lies.
We are both teachers and students by offering lessons with our way of life, our attitude... to pain, to success, to failure.... The more we pay attention to life's lessons the greater teachers we become. If we are smart enough we let life be our teacher to offer us some precious lessons. Unless our ego wants to take these lessons through hard ways...
We are teachers for our children, our friends, our family, but mainly for ourselves. Realistically, we can teach nothing without self knowledge. We must love ourselves by being open to absorb new knowledge in every situation and let us teach ourselves how we absorb new knowledge in every situation initially and generate that way the foreseeable goal of new knowledge. "How" is more powerful and productive than "what"!
So, new knowledge becomes a life-central goal. Aristotle states that the prime rule in teaching process is «to learn how we learn», meaning to see first of all how our mind is structured... limited, permissive, negative... (e.g. learning by doing)
But how we approach knowledge and how this method is adopted by both us and others? The key approach is to take advantage from cultivating some valuable skills. And as we are talking about skills, we understand without excuses, we have to defeat mental barriers and inhibitions by our hard effort and dedication to new learning. And as we are aligned to this process we are a priori receptive to let them inhabit in our heart! When you try hard, you learn by heart!
So, talking about skills of amazing teachers:
Listening
The ability to listen carefully and thoroughly to connect, to build bridges and to create engagement by offering value to both sides. Understanding how people see things requires deep listening. Listening creates reflection and personal reaction in every situation we face can usually offer a lesson, a new way of teaching in action later. Most importantly, understanding becomes the real mind-bridge that connects us with past, present and future.
Mental interaction
Curiosity is NOT enough. It’ s a state where the magical things happen. By putting ourselves in another person’s shoes, we powerfully challenge our emotional intelligence. We become aware of others feelings, emotions, thoughts, reactions. Dealing attentively what has been accumulated in this narrow space, means understanding, comprehension, acceptance, empathy, means mostly human emotions, wholeheartedly interaction. In simple words, we understand, comprehend, accept and empathize with human emotions, as we put our heart in the active learning and teaching process.
Learning
We always seek for new learning opportunities. Paying attention to what others have to say means a lot. Imagine that every person we meet is a book and every time we fail to learn from his free given wisdom, we reject or postpone the learning process eventually.
Margins
The map is not the territory … also the mind is unlimited. So, let’s break new ground. Begin to explore your and others mind. Allow yourself to expand the limits of your small mental box, leave behind the permissive world you live in and become the new mental citizen of a no-limits world, where magical things define your life. Magical things directly relate to creativity, differentiation and exploration.
Love
If you allow love to flow as blood in your veins, you contribute the most valuable element of our human existence. If we love ourselves we can love others and then we can inspire them, motivate them and lead them towards self actualization. As they follow our own path to freedom (knowledge = freedom), they become more independent, more secure in their knowledge. They want more, while they become “more”!
When you are becoming “more,” the levels of self actualization increase and ... that’s the leadership level!
Devotion
The time has nothing to do with things we value most. Being present is so valuable as our existence, because it’s the only time we feel alive! Authenticity means to stand closer to our heart and out life-purpose by fulfilling our dreams. When we do what we love most we feel wonderful every we give ourselves deeply in it. The aura of a devoted man is like an attractive mental trap you allow yourself to get in and stay without second thought. We all love to be close to people that make us become more! it is the part of life that defeats boredom. And in practice... as Jim Rohn said: « You don’t get paid for the hour. You get paid but for the value you bring to the hour». This hour has the name of our heart...
When you try hard, you learn by heart!
As you become more and more acquainted with discovering yourself, through self confidence, empathy and -above all- love, you align with greatness! You can reach and overstep that way the point of self awareness, the limit of uniqueness, the edge of magic! By following this path, you can reach human perfection.

Your children are not your children...

“Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.” ~
